ChatGPT: How Artificial Intelligence could be of use to you

I recall our trip to Kufri in Himachal Pradesh where Rustom, a fellow traveler pointed out that he was using ChatGPT for his official work and he was liking it. I had heard that ChatGPT was this new tool that was going to be a game changer for the Internet.

My conformist mind jumped in with its narrow perspective that new technology keeps on generating people’s interests without adding much value to their lives. How naïve of me to even think like that. To substantiate my claim, I even relied on a meme I read somewhere that ChatGPT had failed in clearing UPSC prelims test by 3 marks. How stupid could ChatGPT be? It was not even smarter than me!

Some days back I spoke to my school friend and her husband. We were having a fun talk when I mentioned that I had started writing online. She pointed out that her husband was also writing online these days.

I then spoke to her husband who told about his experience with Linked In and how he was taking the help of ChatGPT to write blog posts for his profile. After Rustom’s praise for the platform, I was now more curious to use it.

And mind you, I was stunned by the ability of the tool in getting home the request that was made to it. It is a mind-blowing tool that creates a result for your query in the most concise way. The first question I asked ChatGPT was:

The issue between Isreal- Palestine.
It gave a brief but factual answer that was nothing exceptional. Google could give similar results in the first 2-3 search results.

However, I tried searching for some content for my blog post on Index Funds. It provided good points which helped me draft my blog post better. It also gave meaningful and thought-provoking answers to the philosophical questions I searched.

I then started exploring it for fun. However, the moment of transition of my mind came when I asked ChatGPT to review my blog post. It not only gave a critique to my content but also gave practical advice on the structure and the requirement of sufficient context in the blog. It even commented that the claims that I had made in the article could be referenced to sources to increase their authenticity.

I also used it to summarize videos from YouTube which can save you a ton of time. Another feature is to summarize long articles if you are in a hurry to finish an important piece of work. I also used it to write the About Page for my website.

I think the platform has immense potential which needs to be explored to become more productive. I have not yet tried the paid version, but I am sure it would provide value to the user experience.

Through ChatGPT I have now been exposed to other AI-based tools which I am already loving. One of them is Snipd, an app for taking notes on the podcast. I am an avid podcast user for the past few months and I have struggled to find platforms to take notes from the words of wisdom being shared on the platform. So, I am happy to have found it. I am hoping to increase its usage to help me have more ideas for the blogs.

Stay tuned for more on this topic.
